FAQs

Do you take insurance? What about HSA/FSA? Pedicures are not cover by insurance, even if they are done in a doctor's office. If you are diabetic, your insurance may cover nail trims by your podiatrist during check up appointments. Ask your podiatrist if you qualify. Many podiatrists in town send their patients to Columbus Podology because we are the cleanest and most skilled salon in town. Even if you are referred to us by your doctor, our appointments are still self pay. Our system is not set up to process HSA/FSA payment. It is our understanding that our services do not qualify since they are cosmetic.

Do you offer gel polish? The polish we use is 100% dry at the end of your service. It is more chip resistant than regular polish and will not peel like gel sometimes does. It is hypoallergenic, does not require a lamp to cure, and there is no harsh removal process. If you come to your appointment with gel polish on from your last salon, we will remove it at no extra charge.

Do you cut out ingrown nails? Nail techs who cut below the smile line of the nail are performing illegal surgery. This practice provides temporary relief but in the long run makes your problem worse. When clients come to us complaining of ingrown nail pain, we evaluate which of the 5 most likely causes of ingrown pain they have. Most pain can be solved non-invasively. In the rare case of true ingrown nails, we are partnered with multiple podiatrists in Columbus, and can match you with the best provider. We have helped many clients avoid surgery and get rid of their pain. But if you have broken skin or pus, please see a doctor and hold off on your pedicure appointment until you are healed.
